“What if an eccentric chocolatier and a daredevil pop star had a whirlwind romance, got married while skydiving, and had a glamorous, glittering love child who grew up to rule a small nation? Welcome to Candytopia.” If this description doesn’t get you excited about a candy-themed museum, I don’t know what would! And before I visit their new location in New York, I wanted to share with you the sweet experience I had, when I visited their former venue in Santa Monica, California.

Right before you’re about to go in, they leave you waiting with your group in front of this door, where a candy man welcomes you. Let me tell you, Candytopia is an expert at working up your expectation! But once those doors open, the wait is so worth it! It kind of reminded me of entering the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory in the movie. And then it’s on to the first room where you sign a GIANT BOOK, and on the way to the next one, you see famous celebrity candy portraits, like the below of Marilyn Monroe!

On to the next room, where you have the experience of falling down a rabbit hole and rolling giant balloons in the sky! You also get to go on a giant red swing!

Even going down the stairs to the rooms in the first floor was an interactive and colorful experience! Just look at these lights and bright stairway!

And we’re on to the Trolli Room! Let me tell you, this one had to be one of my favorite rooms at Candytopia! First you get to play with confetti, (and when I say play I mean you even get to roll on the floor literally) and then you get to see candy come out of a flying pig’s butt! Let me tell you, it doesn’t get more fun than that!

Who’s ready for a MARSHMALLOW POOL?!
I can’t put into words how excited I was about this last part! Aside from having so much fun, and getting to eat a different candy they give you in each and every room, to top it all of, you get to end your Candytopia experience submerged in a marshmallow pool! This has been definitely one of the sweetest days of my California trip, where I got to experience all my childhood candy dreams, and now that they have opened a new venue in New York, I’m ready to have a new colorful and delicious experience in the city that never sleeps.
