#AMHRoadtrip : First Edition

Three years ago, I started this project called “A Mural Hunter”, in which I wanted to share with all of you my passion for urban art and everything it entices. Never did I ever think that it would lead me to the places and the beautiful people that I’ve met to the day.

Wanting to always share the most colorful places in Puerto Rico and show everyone the local talent that we have in the Island, I came up with the idea of a roadtrip with Puerto Rican bloggers and well-known Instagrammers from all niches of social media. The amazing group of ladies that said “Yes!” to this colorful adventure ended up including the talented Miss Gala, Una Jeva con Hambre, Alanis Colina, Adriana HQ, Styleglamchic, Unlimited Dreamer and Jadiena Diaz: bloggers and influencers of such diverse topics as food critic, lifestyle, fashion and beauty trends.

Once I had a date and the murals we wanted to visit, we set the date and it was on! We had our followers tune in to the roadtrip on Instagram stories.  We had the pleasure of having the urban artist Acty_Two explain to us his larger than life mural, in the Benjamin Moore store in Hato Rey, which was the first stop. A piece that took two weeks in the making and it’s called “After the storm, the calm will come”. It talks about the journey and hardships the Puerto Rican population has been going through for the last couple of years.

As the roadtrip continued, we made our second stop at the parking lot of Tántalo, located in Calle Loíza, which has another mural by Acty_Two, Fisuu and Nepo, called “The Yelow Submarine”; named after The Beatles song. This piece of urban art is part of the “Las 50 de La Loíza” project.

After that, Tántalo welcomed us with a ginger spicy drink, perfect for the hot sunny Sunday we were having. The ambiance at Tántalo was perfect, with delicious food and exquisitely crafted cocktails. After dancing and winding down a little, we left for our third and last stop: Calle Cerra in Santurce.

At Santurce, I had the chance of showing the girls some of my favorite murals and graffiti of all the “Santurce es Ley” editions. And after a unique day of mural hunting, and being the perfect way to close such a colorful and amazing afternoon, we were greeted by Kudough’s Donuts and Coffee Bar, where a delicious surprise was waiting for us! They made us custom colorful donuts with glitter and sparkles, along with some refreshing prosecco glasses to toast to the perfect first edition of #AMHRoadtrip. I couldn’t have asked for a more special adventure and experience with these girls, showing them some of the most beautiful urban art in San Juan Puerto Rico, while supporting local businesses.

There are no words to explain how amazing it was for me to see this roadtrip come to life before my eyes! HUGE thanks to all the girls for saying yes to me, and to Tántalo and Kudough’s for always supporting the local youth in our projects. I can’t wait to set the date and destination for our next adventure on the road. Check out the video of the day below! 💜
