Indeed, it all felt like a dream…
I have traveled many places looking for the most colorful splashes of art on today’s streets. And lately, I’ve been visiting New York, as the city that never sleeps hosts the most variety and quantity of art installations and pop ups in the world. Truth is, deep in my heart, even though I LOVE traveling and discovering new destinations I’ve never been to, a piece of my heart always dreamed of the day I’d visit a fun pop up in Puerto Rico. I don’t think it’s possible for me to put into words the excitement I felt the moment a friend told me that finally, my wait was over: A Pop Up was about to open in San Juan, PR and it’s called Warehouse 1873!

How to get access to Warehouse 1873
Created by Heineken Puerto Rico and located in the heart of Hato Rey, in the beginning of the Avenida Ponce de León, Warehouse 1873 has the cutest colorful sign in neon lights that will for sure call your attention. Colorful, captivating, chromatic, are just some of the words that pop into my head to describe this hypnotizing project, which took 4 months to build and is named after the year the beer brand was created. To have access, all you have to do is go online to their website here, see the times available and reserve your spot. That simple! *Remember you have to be 18 years or older to have access to this experience.* It is open from Fridays to Sundays, and you want to know what the best part is? It’s completely free! Want to know what’s even better than that? For every visit to Warehouse 1873, Heineken will donate $1 to Puerto Rican start-ups, supporting local entrepreneurship and creativity. Chapeau Heineken! Bravo! (Insert standing ovation here!)
Being part of this special place’s soft opening and seeing all its possibilities was such an honor for me. I can only hope this is the beginning of a new artsy interactive journey for Puerto Rico! Make sure to secure your spot, because this pop up is live for December only! This X-Mas is gonna be lit! Literally!
Special thanks to my photographer José Ruiz, for capturing the beauty of Warehouse 1873 so vibrantly!
